6 transfer, week 5

We had a baptism last Saturday (8th) and 2 on the 15th.
These two are soooo awesome! They are black, she is 39 and a single mom, but the coolest mom
ever.  and she has two sons, one is 6 years old and his birthday is
June 13, and she has a 16 year-old son, his birthday is the
13 of June as well, so the sons are exactly 10 years apart.  I forgot
my camera but I will send y'all a pic The son is a junior, when he was a sophomore he made the varsity in basketball, and played in one of the games for state, their team is way good.  He can dunk now and
is about to start basketball.

So last Tuesday we played dodge ball, I
was in my pros clothes, we didn't have our p-day clothes. I
still dominated.  and the recent convert, Jacorey grabbed a kickball sized
dodgeball and was like going to the basket, so i started guarding him
and i stuffed him, he is 6'2''.  It was my one moment of fame, becuase
we played a little later and he dominated me.  I was just so pumped
from dodgeball i guess, but ya he is the coolest.  The first time I
met Jacorey he came down the stairs and I just had this feeling that
he was SOOOO prepared, and we gave the Plan of Salvation lesson and
he was just like, "wow...i feel like all my questions I have ever
really had just got answered...", then we asked him to give the
closing prayer and it was soooo good.  I swear he is a better kid than
I was at his age, when we talked about word of wisdom his mom had trouble
giving up coffee and tea.  After we left he was like, well I have to
help you with that then. Right then he went and grabbed
all the coffee and tea and threw it away.  He never liked either of
them so he didn't drink it. He wants to be a doctor,  he is just the
smartest kid.

So this has been an okay week, except i was really really sore all
week from dodgeball, haha.  and for some reason the right side of my
jaw has hurt for like a week and a half.  Oh and we tracked a couple
of days in the rain, like 4 hours each day and got like no success.
A member gave us a referal that we set a baptism date with, so
that was sweet.

Work, work, and work more, the Lord has to bless you when you sacrifice for Him,

Transfer 4 week 3

Everyone!

So, I love my new area.

We were just driving around trying people, and had ran out
of ideas. We were looking in our LA book for people and Elder
Carter wanted to try someone that he had wanted to try for a while.

We knocked, and this lady opened, we introduced ourselfs, she let
us in for a quick drink of water, and we got talking...it was the day
after the bat man came out...so as ya'll know the crazy man killed
lots of people.  She knew people in Colorado and had lived there for a
time. She lived in the area when combine happened as well.
There are a lot of crazy people there.  Anyways, she made sure everyone
she knew from there was fine, and then for the first time in years had
prayed.  Her husband was the LA we had stopped by for, so she has an
interesting religious backround.  We talked about lots of things,
how she met him, how he fell from the church, what she thought of the
chruch, and everything.  Then once it felt right (as we usually try to
do), we asked if we could kneel in prayer, she agreed, I gave
it.  She cried, and was so thankful.  We left, later that day she
asked when and where church was, and then when we went to chruch a
couple of days later she came, and i sat by her, but she had a friend
from a near by ward with her that did all the talking, that i found
out later was a RM herself).

Every talk was EXACTLY what she needed,
and her friend Sister Zygart (yes i know, cool name), told me later that
Erin Geaton (and her daughter) felt the spirit during every talk, and
felt so peaceful.  The rest of church was great, and they signed
up on our dinner calender, so we will teach them then.  We will take
it slow because she wants us too.  I am sooo excited to teach
Sister Geaton and her husband.  The RM sister Zygart called us and
cried, she was so happy, she told us that it was such a miracle that we
came that day, at that time and everything.  That
was THE day that she needed us to show up.  She also said that Erin
was more prepared, or golden, then anyone she had ever met. Erin
had called her and told her that she had drank a little beer and asked
if that was bad.  So we are doing well here.

Have a good day everyone,

Elder Bleazard

4th transfer 6th week

Well, mom wanted a pic of my bed, so here it is.

This is a bee we saw at the temple, it is sooooo big!  Like as big as my thumb, its true, everything is bigger in texas!
We were doing service for a family who is moving, so we are cleaning up their yard, and doing some landscaping. These two turtles were found, way cool.

This video was taken last night after dinner, Elder schoffield threw up everywhere!  Then I went and got my camera, this is in their apartment.

It was a good week, I hope everyone is doing well!  If there is anything I can pray for that you need, just ask, but thats about all I can do for ya'll!

Take care

4th transfer 5th week

1. How was the move?
Smooth, the new appartment is alot better, just cleaner, but the same exact set up.
2. What's your next big thing you're looking forward too?
Umm, transfers, I think I will be leaving not this thursday but next, so like 10 days.  but maybe not, other than that, no one is getting baptized this Sunday, so just the same, teaching, getting people to church that whole thing.
Oh someone we used to teach but got moved to the singles ward is getting baptized and i am playing a duet with a sister missionary, and maybe singing too. We are playing come thou fount.
3. What will you do for the Fourth of July?
We are having a ward pancake party in the morning, like home, then maybe service. Then a BBQ with some missionaries and a RC.
4. What was your favorite meal this week?
hmm, last night, this Investigator who is the father of a member family so PM, has worked at alot of restraunts is such a good cook. He made a spinach salad with avocados, a fruit salsa of straberries, mangos, and blueberries.  with some pork with a special sauce, so good.
5.  What happened this week that you thought ah ha! Or I didn't know that.
hmm...I can't think of anything right now.
6. How is the teaching pool?
Good, did the rounds this week, taught a bunch of people, but mostly did lots of service.
7. What other religions are big in your area?
Baptist, Catholics, and none (meaning lots of people think its a personal thing and don't claim a chruch)
8. How is the heat?
Not bad, better than home actually, the humitity actually helps, it cools you down. It's just a little gross to be wet all the time, but i don't miss dry heat at all.
9. What's new?
a LAPM took us to costco (all four of us elders that serve in spring branch ward, and took us down every row (almost every), and told us to get things and not to share "today is not sharing day!", so we piled stuff in, and got to the front and it turned out to be $608, but she got a few things that was probably like $100 or less.  so she threw down like $130 for each of us.  pretty crazy, we have no room in our fridge, freezer or cupboards.
10. How are your clothes holding up?
Pretty good, I might get new clothes at like my year mark, depending on how this next 6 months goes.  I'm hoping I can keep them clean and not need to spend any more money on new ones though.
We think and pray for you.

thank you, and ya'll too, in my night and morning prayers.

Love you too!
Elder Bleazard

Aaron also sent pictures of his district!

4th transfer, 4th week

Hey Everyone,
Another week has passed us by, warnings for next week, I am moving appartments this Tuesday to thursday, same complex  mail anything to the mission office. (as on the blog)

Okay, so last Monday we had dinner with this family, that was really fun to talk to.  Then Tuesday we taught a bunch of lessons, 7 total, 2 member presents, 3 others, and 2 member lessons.  They all went well, and had a honduran dish for dinner, something like balialtes.  Wednesday we did service for laurel Lund, had lunch, taught a few people, then had dinner with a LA and a RC (Austin who we just baptized a few weeks ago), awesome dinner i liked the food, and the conversasion was awesome.

Thursday we basicly did nothing, we had interviews with the President, which we do every other transfer, and then went to dinner after and it took all night.  and in the morning we did mormon.org.  Friday was a good day, had distric meeting, taught a few lessons after, then did more service for laurel lunds, then saturday we did three things, more service for laurel lunds 8am to 1pm, then picked up austin the RC for basketball, then took him home, showered, ate, then got picked up by a member, picked up Austin too, then went to a fireside that Steve Hayes and Thurl Bailey.

They are former NBA players Steve Hayes was a Mormon all his life, and grew to be 7 foot tall! Thurl Bailey's story was awesome!  He converted early in his marriage to a Mormon. It was an awesome story, when he was 13 he was 6'3'', then during the summer he grew 4 inches so at 14 he was 6'7'', then the next year he grew 2 more! so he was 6'9'' in 9th grade, then by the time he was in the NBA he was 6'11''.  They were soooo tall!  We happened to park right next to them, and they got out, we got out and talked to them for a little bit, and our RC Austin went up to Thurl Bailey, (Austin is black, and so is Thurl Bailey), and Thurl Bailey turned to him, grabbed his hand, and brought him real close, looked down at him and said, "you want to play one on one", Austin couldn't say anything, it was so funny.

Then Sunday Tommy came to church, he gave up smoking for good, on Tuesday this week we took his pack of cigarettes, and he hasn't smoked since, now to get him off beer...much harder challange.  anyway, had church, then a baptism, the other Elders in our ward baptized a family of 6, it was so cool!  We taught someone, had dinner, tracked, taught an awesome lesson with a RC/LA and a few other people there, and ya, thats about my week...

4th transfer 3rd week

Everyone,

This week was okay.  Monday we were having dinner, and an investigator called and asked us to come over.  So we went to his appartment which is in our same complex, and taught him about prayer.  We prayed for his friends grandma, who was sick.

Tuesday we did weekly planning where we talked about everyone we teach and what each person needs to do or hear to progress. We did service for 6 hours for an investigator whos husband died a few months ago.  She needed alot of help with things around the house.  She also is a foster mother, so she has 4 kids that make a mess, but we are teaching all of them and they are doing great.

Wednesday we did service in the morning for a member then went to a donut shop for breakfast.  Afterwards we took care of some things and taught a few people.  Thursday we went to the college and got on computers and did this thing we do everyweek called mormon.org where we go and get more familiar with mormon.org and lds.org so we can share things from it to investigators and members.  Later we had a busy day teaching 4 other lessons.  It was a good day.

Friday, like almost every friday, we had district meeting, then district lunch.  We went to a taco shop.   I got dared to drink some hot salsa and did it!  Then we picked up this wonderful member named Karl Flynn, took him to Melissas, then to Laurel Lund and taught 2 powerful lessons. It was really cool. Then had dinner at this wing place. Saturday we stopped by some other places before basketball at 3pm, where we and the other spring branch missionaries meet and play basketball with all the investigators we can bring.  Last week there were 2 boys, this week 3.  Then just tried by some people, got nothing, dropped by one man.  Yesterday we had church.  Tommy came and Chuck, two of our investigators.  Then we had our lunch break and took a short break, then taught until dinner at 4 30.  We taught two more lessons after dinner, it was good.  Yep thats about my week.  oh and we play risk, the board game, when we have free time, and everyone teams up on me and kills me, how mean right!

Anyway, here are some random pics!
Love you all!  Hope to hear from you!

3rd transfer, 6th week

A letter my mom wrote and Aaron responded.

Howdy Elder Bleazard,
Howdy! And no, I hardly ever hear howdy.
How is the work going this week?
Good, people are getting more solid and all.
Are you still teaching the same people or did you find some different people to teach?
Not a whole lot of new people, we got 4 new investigators, but it was mostly people that were just potentials that finally progressed to the point where they keep commitments and honestly want to learn.  This guy we found in our complex is cool.
We ran into a guy on our street, he said he lived in our appartments at number 324, and so a few days later we stopped by to find a different man who had never heard of the Frankie we had ran into.  This man was moving something so we helped him and we prayed with him, then we came back talked, taught him the restoration, he is cool and read parts of the BOM too!
Did you get the package?
Yep!  Thank you!

I know you are busy with your life and your things!  I  am so
glad you have sisters who love you and cousins that sent
letters this past week.  (I actually wrote several if you get your
mail.)
I did! Thank you! Britt sent a cool cd, Alex Boye, "Be still my soul" I like it!t.
What have your learned about this week?
I like the spirit alot, it changes hearts and helps people aton!

Are you hating the humidity and the heat together?
Nah, it's not to bad, people talked it up, it will get worst.

Your district is really small in the pictures.  Is it small again?
Again? It has always been 3 companionships, but the presidents daughter just joined the sisters for a mini mission, so we have 7 right now, but it has always been 6, in the field at least.
How many districts in a zone?
3, so about 20 people.
What is your p-day schedule today?
6am laundry, 6-6 40am push ups (100)
On your birthday, Dad said we are no longer parents of a teenager.
Isn't growing up great!
No, I wish I was still a kid, things were much simpler and easy to enjoy simple things.
I am glad you are enjoying the mission and love serving where you
are called.
Me too!  some people hate it, you have to love it!
Know that you are loved and thought of daily.
oh thank you!
