3rd transfer 1st week

How are you ?
Great!

How was your week
Okay.

What happened this week that you don't want to ever forget?
When we were tracking we walked up to this house and I said "this is a nice house" and Elder Shiffman replies, "this is our next investigator" and we knocked and she told us she was busy but to come back the next day (Sunday)", We went back and she was busy again, but still something I don't want to forget!

When is your next Zone Conference? (I like to look at the mission blog for your picture.)
I don't send many pics in.  but ZC is next Tuesday (8 days), I am actually singing at it, Sister Pingree called and asked me to play piano, and I talked for a while, and she basically left me to do whatever I wanted to, with whoever I wanted to in my zone. Elder Brown is good and I am going to practice with today and decide what to sing.

Have you eating many "new" southern foods?  Have you been fed by a black southern women yet?  I would imagine they are the best cooks there.  There might be more Mexicans there because you are so close to the border.
Ya, we get alot of Mexican food, but not really anything new, except I had cow stomach, that was...different.

How close to down town Texas do you get?
Idk how close, I haven't been there yet.

Do you have areas that you are not allowed to be in?
Not in ours no, we can go anywhere in our area.

Hello Everyone,

So, I had a wonderful week, Elder Fultz and I taught a lot then he left the area and I got a new companion, Elder Alex Schiffman, we came out together, were in the same district in the MTC and now are Co-senior companions.   i am so excited for this transfer!

I don't have much time, but if you want to hear more, write me and I will write back, eventually.  I do take a while to write back.  I hope everyone is doing great!  Enjoy your week!

2 transfer 5th week

Everyone-

Monday I played Golf, I am terrible at golf, I was swinging it like a bat near the end.  Tuesday we got to go to the Temple in the morning, that was great! Then we went to the church store that is in the temple, looked at the music, and each CD is like $15 so I didn't get any, but I need some church cds!  Send me some please!  Then we went to upland, we taught a good lesson, met with JB & Rumae, and talked to them for a while.

Taught people Wednesday and Thursday, then Friday we had exchanges and I stayed and Elder Fultz switched with Elder Christensen so I ran the area, we taught 5 lessons, it went well.  Saturday we moved the Salleys in the morning, then studied scriptures. Taught Upland got them all excited for church and wanting to go, but the mom Lisa thinks she doesn't have anything to wear, she says her chruch shoes are in storage, and when we called Sunday morning she said they aren't going.  It's sad that satan can use a little thing like one pair of shoes to get all 5 of them to not come to chruch, the 3 kids are all ready to go at 8am when we called. We have told her everything we can, she just needs to buy shoes I guess, because she doesn't want to go to church in anything less than what she knows as chruch clothes.

Then we were fed by a recently not participating member and his investigator girlfriend and his mother, talked with them, taught them a little, it was great steak!  Then taught a recently not participating member  family about the importance of family prayer and scripture study.  They still didn't go to church:(

Sunday we had 2 investigators come to church, Amanja a little 10 year-old girl from Upland but not Lisa's daughter, and a recently active members daughter (17 year old) who we haven't had the chance to teach at all, but she called and said she wanted to get baptized next week, so we told her that it won't be this next week but the week after so we have time to teach her everything. We are meeting with them on Tuesday.

Elder Fultz did the chubby bunny competition and won!  He got 21 Peeps in his mouth, it was crazy, he felt so sick after.I hope he feels 100% soon, but he is almost all the way better now.  Transfers are this Thursday, we find out who is being transfered this Tuesday.  We think this is the list of things most liking to happen, 1-I leave or 2-Fultz leaves or 3-we both stay, least likely is 4- we both leave.  So there is a big chance I will be getting a new comp in a new area this week.  As for this transfer we got 72 other lessons!  but other than that we didn't do to well,  0 baptized, and 0 confirmed. Oh well, we will be having a few in the next little while in Spring branch!  Hope ya'll are doing great!  Hope to hear from you sometime!

I hope you had a great week. I am on the phone with mom. Chelsea wants a TV more then anything. Netflicks is my favorite, have you heard of it?

Have I heard of netflicks!?! NO, what is a cell phone while questions are being asked! haha, of course I have!  Tell her she doesn't need a TV at college, it just blows time away like crazy!

Everyone

This week has been the most down then up week on my mission yet.

Monday it was kind of tense then I got a letter from Elder Jordan Beus, which totally made my day!!! It was awesome.  Then Tuesday we went over to JB and Rumaes (the people we planned on baptizing this last Sunday) and they had talked about tithing and decided they can't afford it, and since they can't join, by being baptized and taking that convent they were going to stop coming to church, stop having us over, and give us back everything we had given them (2 big Triples, 2 big bibles, Book Of Mormon on CD, lots of pamphlets, books for Sunday school and relief society and priesthood, and the restoration video), that was totally surprising, since they had LOVED everything previously. Rumae had read the Book Of Mormon and D&C.  It was a moment in my life I honestly could not say a word.

Luckily Elder Fultz stepped up to the plate, and convinced them that is what the devil wanted and that they should keep reading, praying, and coming to church and having us over. This is a small road block but we knew they would eventually get baptized, and told them lots of people come to church for months at a time. (I started in too at some point)

We met with Rumae Friday and she just had no hope, but was going to keep reading and coming when JB decided they should come.  They went to their camp this weekend so they didn't go to church.  Hopefully this weekend we can get them to EVERY conference session I feel it will be a "game changer" for them.

Ann dropped us, twice, once she did Tuesday, then we gave her a Book of Mormon and she committed to read it, then she didn't and we called her and she dropped us again "i don't have the time" or something like that.  But this was a really slow week, did some tracking, walked some.

BUT HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK, ADAM S. (&fam) BOUGHT US BIKES!!! Saturday we went over to their house  and Adam turned to us and said we are going to buy you bikes, and drove us to a place and bought us nice bikes, plus $50 think locks!  We couldn't thank them enough, and they insisted they couldn't thank us enough, Joanna (the member wife) was "waiting so long for Adam to get baptized, and Adam had gone through sets and sets of missionaries, but something about us clicked and they will be eternally grateful"

We were so grateful, as in the Joseph Smith full movie, a quote from Joseph Smith says "the Lord will bring you down, just so He can lift you higher" or something like that, but ya, we got our bikes stolen a week later we were given really nice bikes, from a bike shop and all.  Oh so Tuesday was hard, was dropped by 3 investigators (or almost was, JB, Rumae & Ann), luckily Gods grace is big, I got a letter that night from Jonathan S, and made me feel so much better, Letters can be inspired!  Yep that was my week.  I would love to hear from yall!
